Belle Corporation (Belle) and listed companies under its corporate umbrella, namely Premium Leisure Corp. (PLC) and Pacific Online Systems Corporation (Pacific Online) achieved Golden Arrow Awards for posting high marks in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) during virtual ceremonies held on February 19, 2021.

Belle notched the prestigious four arrows, joining an elite group of Philippine corporates, while PLC and Pacific Online received the three-arrow and two-arrow recognitions, respectively, for their exemplary governance efforts.

“On behalf of the Shareholders, Board of Directors, Management, employees and other stakeholders in the Belle Group, I would like to thank the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) for this coveted award. At Belle, we used corporate governance not merely as a system replete with stringent rules and regulations, but as a mantra to ensure that all decisions and corporate actions are done with proper accountability, financial prudence and environmental and social responsibility,” said Willy Ocier, Belle Chairman, in his pre-recorded message during the awarding ceremonies.

ACGS is a regionally renowned assessment program that set standards and assign scores to companies that adopt and implement best corporate governance principles and practices. According to the ICD, the arrows pointing up “symbolize the continuing efforts of publicly listed companies to raise the level of compliance with the ASEAN corporate governance principles.”
